TEXA IDC6 Update - What You Need to Know

TEXA’s IDC6 Update: What You Need to Know

At Diesel Laptops, our customers always come first. That’s why we’re sharing critical information about TEXA’s upcoming IDC6 update to ensure you’re prepared and can make informed decisions for your business. While Diesel Laptops is not managing this update—this is something TEXA is rolling out—we want to make sure you have all the details to navigate this transition smoothly.

IDC5, TEXA’s trusted diagnostic software, is being replaced by the new and improved IDC6. This update brings enhanced capabilities, but it also requires specific system requirements to ensure smooth operation. For customers currently relying on IDC5, understanding this transition is crucial to maintaining diagnostic efficiency and staying current with TEXA’s latest offerings.

TEXA IDC5 Support will End Soon

After the IDC6 rollout from TEXA on the week of January 27th, 2025, TEXA will continue to support IDC5 for one year, but there will be no further updates or engineering support for IDC5 after the IDC6 release. If you choose not to upgrade, you won’t benefit from software updates, coverage additions, functionality enhancements, and engineering support.

TEXA IDC6 Update Requirements

TEXA IDC6 is compatible with PCs running Windows 10 (version 22H or newer) or Windows 11. However, TEXA will cease support for Windows 10 once Microsoft deprecates it, sometime in the summer of 2025. If you’re running Windows 10, Diesel Laptops strongly recommends not updating to IDC6 until you upgrade to Windows 11.

Is the IDC6 Update Mandatory?

Once the final IDC5 update is installed, you must upgrade to IDC6 to continue receiving updates and support. You may remain on IDC5 until your computer can be upgraded to Windows 11, however you will lose access to further TEXA software updates until the update to IDC6 can be completed.

Who is Eligible to Upgrade?

If you are currently under a support agreement, you are eligible. This would be customers that have purchased within the previous 12 months of have purchased a support package after that date. If interested in purchasing a support package please contact us.

Diesel Laptops’ Recommendation

To avoid disruptions in your diagnostic capabilities, Diesel Laptops recommends the following:

  1. Upgrade your PC to Windows 11 if you haven’t already.

  2. Coordinate the TEXA IDC6 upgrade during a time that minimizes downtime.

  3. If your computer cannot be upgraded to Windows 11, Diesel Laptops has several new and refurbished models to choose from that will meet your diagnostic needs. Please give us a call at 888-983-1975 to explore these options.
