When Mack Trucks first got serious about bringing electronics on their trucks in the late 1990s, they dubbed the electrical system on their engine V-MAC III. This essentially covers all Mack engines produced from 1998 to around 2004, give or take a year or two. It was with the EPA mandated 2004 emissions that they started to move away from V-MAC III. Mack now calls these trucks "Mack Legacy" vehicles.
